Extensions Plug-ins for S60 3rd Edition SDKs for Symbian OS
The C++ extensions plug-ins for S60 3rd Edition SDKs for Symbian OS extend the features of an S60 platform SDK, offering improved device emulation and support for additional functionality included in shipped devices or specific to a certain device. As a result, the plug-ins enable a greater range of applications to be built and tested using the S60 device emulator supplied in the SDK.
Extensions plug-ins are now available for all the current S60 3rd Edition SDKs for Symbian OS.

Please note that the APIs included in the extensions plug-ins are not part of the S60 platform, therefore source compatibility with future releases of the S60 platform is not guaranteed.
IDE support
The extensions plug-ins are compatible with the IDEs supported by the S60 3rd Edition SDKs for Symbian OS:
- Carbide.c++, all editions
- Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2003 with Carbide.vs 2.0
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 with Carbide.vs 3.0
Emulator features
These plug-ins provide full API support to the S60 3rd Edition SDK for Symbian OS for which they are designed. However, the emulator may not provide all the features seen on the devices based on a version of the S60 3rd Edition, as devices may ship with additional codecs.
